The Scoop:
We had no power for day 3 so headed to Summer Shanty. It is on the water, facing a charming marina on Bass River. The location is before Sundancers heading West. Parking was a piece of cake. The location is perfect. My DSM, 88 year young Mom and 19 year old sweetie daughter found a 4 top at 6 PM. It was HOT...the sun was beating down and it took us awhile to get used to the heat. There are more shaded areas but the seats were full. Our seat was on the deck. Our waitress was very nice. The menu is seafood shack pub style. The feature on Tue. is 99 cent raw bar by the Lowells. FABULOUS oysters, fat firm delish shrimp and sweet littlenecks. Mom had Amstel and my DSM had a Margarita he said was weak. I had three different white wines but cannot tell you what they were. I had steamers and I must say, they were amazing..no sand, sweet and tender. I tried my DSM and Mom's haddock..fresh and tasty. The fries had the skin on. My kiddo liked her Caesar Salad. After we sat on the lawn which was MUCH cooler. LOVED our night..loved the food..will go back before summer's end.
