Fun old bar with lots of memories...most everyone has been to the Woodshed at some point in my life..

The Scoop:
We made our first visit to the Woodshed this week. Down and dirty and just way we like it. No frills scene with great mix of folks. Didn't stick around for the live music.

Pros:
Great low key place to gather with friends.

The Scoop:
I've misspent more than a few evenings in this little bar and music venue next door to the Brewster Chowder House. I enjoy it particularly in the fall, when the regulars take it back from the tourists. This is a rustic building with no frills. If you want to eat, there are a nice U-shaped bar and a dining room next door at the Chowder House. Years ago, I saw an excellent band called The Preacher, the Judge, and Panama Red, but they've since split up. Last I heard, the Judge formed a band called Judgment Day. It's the kind of place where someone can yell, "Play Ol' 55" and the singer can say, "Damn, I forget how it starts," and someone else (okay, me) can yell the lyrics up to him. Bottle beer, no glass is the drink of choice here; also, quite a bit of Jack D is poured. I haven't been here recently enough to learn if trendy cocktails have made any inroads.
