Entering Outer Cape! Last Stop! ...
The Outer Cape is the outermost part, with some sections only a few miles across, containing the towns of Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro, and Provincetown. This area includes the Cape Cod National Seashore, a national park comprising much of the outer Cape, and is home to some of the most popular beaches in America, including Coast Guard Beach and Nauset Light Beach in Eastham. Gateway to the Cape Cod National Seashore, the Town of Eastham straddles the arm of Cape Cod
with water on each side, explore the Massachusetts Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary there as well as the wooded trails, salt marshes, protected bays and fresh water ponds. The Central Village in Wellfleet offers a wide array of fine art galleries, and shops all within a short walk. Enjoy ocean-side live music at The Beachcomber on Cahoon Hollow Beach, and world famous shellfish at the Wellfleet Oyster Festival on the weekend following Columbus Day. Visit Truro a great summer vacation community just shy of the tip of Cape Cod. The Cape Cod, or Highland, Lighthouse offers excellent views of the expansive coast. Much of Truro's land is included in the Cape Cod National Seashore. Last stop on the tip of Cape Cod is Provincetown. Historically, Provincetown has drawn writers and artists, the Provincetown Art Association and Museum was founded in 1914. The Pilgrim Monument takes center stage in Provincetown in 2010 celebrating it's 100 year. Also a great Cape Cod summer activity is enjoying trip with the Dolphin Fleet Whalewatch of Provincetown. Restaurants and galleries line Commercial Street and is a great spot for fun and people watching!
